Watch Our Transformation
From Vision to Reality
Once defined by aging facilities and operational constraints, Terminal B has been transformed into a world-class gateway to New York City. The redevelopment introduces a new standard of design, efficiency, and guest experience—delivering a terminal that is as functional as it is inspiring.

How LGP Made it Happen
Financing
Terminal B’s transformation was made possible through a $5.1 billion public-private partnership—one of the largest in U.S. history and the largest in American aviation. This funding supported the construction of the 1.3 million square foot terminal, which began in June 2016 and was completed on time and on budget in 2022.
Operational Continuity
Keeping the airport fully open during construction demanded meticulous planning and coordination. The original terminal remained in use throughout the redevelopment, ensuring passengers and airlines continued moving seamlessly while the new Terminal B took shape.
